Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as the character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she won an Emmy Award. She is best known for her role on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the child of an executive in the United Auto Workers who was also an auntie. Delaney has four older brothers. Although she was a child with a dream of becoming a journalist, it wasn't until her high school years when Delaney started modeling. Following her move away from New York City and gaining experiences in commercials at New York did she achieve her dream of becoming aspiring court reporters. As a teenager, her first role as an actress was in the soap opera All My Children. Delaney's career has been filled with numerous television films and dramas. In contrast to her successful professional life, Delaney's private life isn't as content and successful. The talented actress has had to deal with alcoholism in the past and has been through two marriages that failed. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her son.
